Paul Omotosho, the Ekiti State chairman of the All Progressive Chairman (APC), has been reportedly freed by his abductors.

Recall that last weekend, Omotosho was kidnapped while he was travelling on the Agbado–Imesi-Ekiti road in the Gbonyin Local Government Area of the state.

A source who spoke to journalists on the development described how Omotosho, a native of Imesi-Ekiti, was driving alone to his hometown when he was ambushed by the assailants.

According to him, the gunmen fired a series of shots before capturing the APC chieftain and fleeing the scene.

Reports emerging on Thursday morning revealed, however, that Omotosho has been freed.

According to Vanguard, relations of the abducted APC chieftain confirmed his release on Thursday morning (today), but kept mum on whether some money was paid.

Also, the security agents in the state are yet to issue any official statement to confirm the news of his release.
