A Nigerian photographer captured the beautiful moment a father helped his daughter buckle her shoes during the recently concluded Eid celebration.

The Kwara-based photographer, identified as SarkinFOTO, revealed that he captured the heartwarming photo in Ilorin.

Taking to Twitter on Saturday July 1, he posted the photo and wrote,

“This image was created by me during the Eid celebration in Ilorin—the man in the picture is the father & the girl is his daughter (for those commenting ‘she might be his wife’).

As a photographer I hardly express myself with words rather just let the picture speak for itself.”

The tweet has gone viral on the micro-blogging platform and garnered over a million views.

In other news, a Nigerian man has bemoaned his failure to buy a Sallah ram this year and his wife’s unwillingness to cook for their children or communicate with him.

The man, whose identity remains undisclosed, had an unbroken tradition of buying a ram for each Eid celebration over the past 12 years.

However, in 2023 he was unable to continue this custom due to financial issues, including rising debt and the children’s tuition.

A public official named Abdullahi Misilli posted the story on Twitter, attributing it to the journalist Lawan Bukar Maigana.

The man voiced unhappiness in his wife’s lack of sympathy and assistance during this trying time while remaining anonymous.

He stated that his wife’s actions revealed her lack of affection for him even though he had 100,000 Nigerian Naira in his possession and that she had never supported him in times of difficulty.
