Feminism, described in the dictionary as “the advocacy of women’s rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes.”
The word ‘Feminism’ is the reason Nigerian singer and entertainer, Teni, is currently trending on Twitter.
The singer shared an opinion on feminism and all hell is let loose.
Teni says being a feminist also means ladies should be able to kneel and propose to men for marriage. “Y’all are feminists till it’s time to bend on one knee to ask a man to marry you! Aren’t we equal?,” Teni twitted.
She went on to say; “I stand for women anyday anytime, I’ll always support the growth of the girl child. But the girl child must learn to uplift one another not tear each other down. Be a feminist on all grounds. Stand tall and never back down.”

This has not gone down well with the host of feminist ladies in the house as they have called for Teni’s head.
See some major reactions;
This is such a counter productive thing to say. I’m so disappointed. https://t.co/j1YPbMqG7i

@TeniEntertainer @Teni I know you know that Feminism isn't a show of hierarchy or about gender. It's beyond gender. Men can be feminists just like women. I know you already know. Perhaps, there is a reason for this tweet. Love and Light?

No Teni, we are not equal, Men are better, greater and even more human than women.? I mean you shouldn’t even be in the same industry with them , you’re not worthy dear.

Bending on one knee isn't the problem… Point me to a Nigerian brother that won't feel insulted by his woman proposing, paying his groom price and footing the wedding bills and I will point you to a feminist willing to do it. Our Nigerian society will make mockery of such a man.
