The Taliban in Afghanistan have reacted to a viral video of angry residents flogging two suspected generator thieves nabbed in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.

After the video went viral, the Taliban described the act as ‘disorderly’ while offering to send their professional floggers to Nigeria to teach the proper flogging technique.

They stated that the punishment meted to the suspects would cause unnecessary distress to them.

This was made known on the social media handle of the Taliban Public Relations Department.

“This flogging is disorganised, and disorderly, and causes the convicts unnecessary distress. If such practices persist, the industry as a whole will suffer. We are willing to send our heroic professional floggers to Africa to teach the proper technique,” the post reads.
