Former Kaduna lawmaker, Sen Shehu Sani has taken to Twitter to reveal the most fraudulent government institution under the former president, Muhammadu Buhari.

Sani alleged that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is the most fraudulent institution of government in the history of Nigeria.

This comes amidst the controversies surrounding the CBN special investigator, Jim Obazee, engaged by President Bola Tinubu.

Recall that the President has engaged Obazee, a former chief executive officer of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, as the special investigator to probe the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and related entities.

President Muhammadu Buhari, in 2017, fired Obazee, after he investigated the CBN under the tenure of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.

His investigation reportedly uncovered corruption in Nigeria’s apex bank then, and his recommendation led to former President Goodluck Jonathan’s suspension of Sanusi in February 2014.

However, in a twist of events, in 2016, Obazee was allegedly convicted of s3xually harassing his former Personal Assistant, Abimbola Patricia Yakubu.

Reacting to the series of controversies on the issue, Shehu Sani said CBN is the most fraudulent institution in government if what he read is the true situation of the Apex Bank and wondered how such could happen under Buhari.

He wrote: “The CBN under Buhari is the most opaque and fraudulent institution of Government in the history of Nigeria if what we read is the true situation of the Apex Bank. How did this happened under a man who has historically accused his predecessors of state heists.”
