Police Raid Kidnappers Den In Delta, Recover Arms, Ammunition

Men of the Delta State Police Command have raided the hideout of suspected kidnappers and armed robbers in the state.

The operatives recovered one AK-47 rifle with five magazines loaded with 161 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, one assault rifle with two magazines loaded with 59 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, two English pump-action guns, 110 rounds of live cartridges, one double barrel gun, one single barrel gun, one toy gun, cutlasses and charms wrapped in a cap from the uncompleted building located at Agadaga Avenue, off Jakpa Road, Ekpan in the Uvwie Local Government Area of the state.

The Divisional Police Officer, DPO, of Ekpan Division, CSP Aliyu Shaba, had led a team of policemen and military men to the scene where the weapons were recovered.

He said the recovery was made on Monday at about 1600hrs.

He added that frantic effort was on to arrest the crime syndicate.
