Gunmen Open Fire On Commercial Bus, Abduct Passengers And Injure Others In Edo State

Five passengers have been abducted as gunmen opened fire on a commercial bus in Edo State.
 
One of the passengers who escaped from the bush alongside 8 others, Justina Dauda, said she had boarded the vehicle in Lagos State, travelling to Jalingo, Taraba, on Wednesday, October 11, 2023.
 
According to her, on reaching Edo State, a man in army uniform appeared and opened fire on the bus.
 
She added that six men emerged from the bush with cutlasses and sticks and led them into the bush.
 
She said she and 8 others managed to escape while the fate of other passengers is unknown.
 
“Lord gave me a second chance. God will always remain God. I can’t really tell how I managed to escape bare footed from the hands of unknown gunmen,” she narrated in a Facebook post on Thursday night.

“We all thought it was a check point, suddenly he shot our bus… While our driver stopped 6 men came out of the bush with Cutlass and sticks, they did not demand for money they asked us all to enter the bush
 
“We were 14 in number only 9 came back. Please if you have any relative that left Lagos to Jalingo yesterday. Kindly give him a call. Thank you Lord for another second chance.”
