Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has reacted to the crisis surrounding the leadership of the party.

TORI had earlier reported that the crisis started following the announcement of the new National Working Committee (NWC) and zonal officers.

Some state chapters of the party had rejected candidates nominated by the NWC led by the former governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje.

The development saw the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello and some lawmakers from the state storm the party’s national secretariat to stop the inauguration of Duro Mesoko who was nominated for the position of Deputy National Publicity Secretary.

The Kogi State APC in a statement released on Thursday denied nominating Mesoko for the position.

Police operatives were also positioned in strategic places around and in the secretariat to stop the breakdown of law and order.

Ganduje while addressing newsmen after a closed-door meeting with Governor Bello in Abuja promised to resolve the crisis amicably.

The APC national chairman further stated that all differences would be rectified.

Ganduje also expressed optimism in the ability of the Kogi governor to deliver the state for the party in the November 11 governorship election.

Bello reaffirmed his confidence in the party’s leadership, insisting that the APC would retain the state.
