A Benue man, Ayihe Festus, has taken to Facebook to narrate his and his wife’s alleged ordeal with some military men on their way home from the farm.

He disclosed that the military men accused him of acting like he is above the law.

To punish them, the military men gave him and his friend cutlasses to clear their fields despite working at their own farms the whole day.

“I went to farm today along Gbajimba road with my wife and my friend uncle Moove Jacob using his motorcycle and while we were going we met this Nigeria army stationed close to Hon Avine Agbom village in Mbayongo and stopped and pay them hundred naira, they used marker and made a sign on the headlight of our bike for proper identification,” he said in a Facebook post on Monday, July 24.

So after coming back, my friend in attempt to park well before they would check attract the wrath of these guys, according to them, my friend was trying to escape and was claiming to be above the law.

They insulted us and gave us cutlasses and asked us to clear the field for 30 minutes and refused to hear anything from us even as we were tired after working in the farm from morning to evening.

I miss my elder brother Major Terfa Pilla at that point in time for the harassment and humiliation we received today.

First I went to work in that area because the same army stationed at Udei has fail to secure my village of Tse Magum from herders crisis.

Second I obeyed and paid all their charges without shouting at them but they compel me and my friend in presence of my wife and other road users to work in the field.”
