Senator Walid Jibrin, a former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees, has raised alarm after his rented apartment was invaded by bandits in Abuja.

This is coming after Boko Haram terrorists invaded the home of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar.

According to Jibrin, the bandits arrived in seven SUVs, brandishing advanced weaponry, and directed his housekeeper, Awwalu, to lead them to his bedroom.

They subsequently conducted a thorough search, taking away some documents in the process.

The invaders reportedly informed Awwalu that they were in search of N5bn, ammunition, and certain documents.

They proceeded to vandalize Jibrin’s primary bedroom before leaving the scene.

This incident follows a recent attack on the Adamawa home of PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, suspected to have been carried out by Boko Haram members.

Speaking at a press conference in Kaduna on Tuesday, Jibrin dismissed the idea that he had N5bn hidden away, inviting any authorities to verify his claims by examining his bank accounts.

He also noted that this was the second time bandits had targeted his residence.

The Second Republic senator stated, “They took my houseboy away and later dropped him somewhere after informing him that they were looking for such a big amount of N5bn and some ammunition kept by me but found nothing at all.

“I have since reported the matter to the Inspector General of Police, who directed the Commissioner of Police FCT to handle the matter. The CP is still under investigation.”
