Anyanwu Returns As PDP National Secretary After Defeat In Imo Guber Election

Sen Samuel Anyanwu, the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the just concluded elections in Imo state has arrived at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.

Anyanwu arrived around 12:10 p.m. to resume his duty as the National Secretary of the PDP,  after the Nov 11 elections.

Following his arrival in his office, Anyanwu was welcomed by the staff of the National Secretariat of the major opposition party.

Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Sunday, declared Hope Uzodinma as the winner of the Imo State governorship election.

The Returning Officer for the state election, Professor Abayomi Fashina, said Uzodimma defeated his opponents in all Local Government Areas of the State, gathering a higher number of votes ahead of his PDP’s candidate, Anyanwu and Athan Achonu of the Labour Party (LP).

Fashina stated that Uzodimma polled a total of 540,308 votes, while Anyanwu scored 71,503 votes, and Achonu garnered 64,081 votes.
