AGN Confirms Release Of Nollywood Actors Cynthia Okereke, Cornel

Two Nollywood actors kidnapped by gunmen: Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel, have regained their freedom.

This was announced in a statement by the Actors Guild of Nigeria, signed by its President, Ejezie Emeka Rollas.

In the statement on Wednesday, released by the Director of Communications of the AGN, Monalisa Chinda-Coker, the actors were released unhurt.

According to the AGN, no ransom was paid for the release of Okereke and Cornel, who were kidnapped in Enugu State on July 29, 2022.

The statement said: “This is to gladly inform the public that the kidnapped actors, Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel Agbogidi have been released unhurt.

“The actors’ body maintains that the abductors were touched by the Spirit of God to release the actors free of charge without collecting any ransom.

“On behalf of their families, the National President expressed our heartfelt appreciation to the  Nollywood industry and Nigerians at large for the support and prayers during the trying period. He urged members to be security conscious on and off film sets and always take precautionary measures on their personal security at all.”
