Davido stunned his many fans on social media recently when he gifted one of them a whopping $1000 just to get back at a someone who trolled him.
Trouble started when one of Davido’s twitter followers identified as Hopewell, with the handle @hopewellc made a post insinuating that Davido showed up in Zimbabwe and nobody cared about who he was or even cheered for him as people would normally do for superstars.
When Davido saw the tweet, he immediately reacted. He called out Hopewell and asked him to shut up. He then went on to tell his followers to anticipate his next post.
When he finally made the anticipated ‘next post’, Davido asked his followers to play a game. He asked them to take a look at Hopewell’s face and give him a name. According to him, the best suggestion would win $1000.
Davido’s excited followers began to suggest different names with the singer retweeting many of them.
Finally, when one of his followers suggested that Hopewell looked like a beggar, Davido quickly settled for it and asked the suggester to send his account details and receive the $1000.
It has not been confirmed if the suggester got the reported $1000.
The incident has since become a topic of discussion on social media with many wondering how Davido could just part with a whopping $1000 as if it was a mere N100.
