Tunde Rahman, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu’s media aide, has given a motive why the presidential aspirant was absent on the Nationwide Executive Council on Wednesday.

He gave the explanation in a chat with our correspondent on Wednesday.

The PUNCH had reported that the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) attended the assembly.

The President was joined by his Vice, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Chairman of the APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, different members of the Nationwide Working Committee, Board of Trustees and state governors.

Rahman stated the APC structure doesn’t grant Tinubu permission to attend the assembly.

“Asíwájú isn’t a member of NEC. He’s a member of the Nationwide Caucus. Members of NEC are the President, VP, Senate President, Speaker, State chairmen of the occasion and members of the nationwide executives of the occasion,” he stated.
