Comedian Mandy Uzonitsha has appealed to Nigerians to develop the practice of regularly praying for her and her colleague because there are a lot of things people of his kind go through.

Mandy Uzonitsha made this passionate appeal while mourning the deaths of fallen Nollywood star, Ada Ameh who passed away on Sunday night, and Sola Onayiga who also perished on the same day.

According to Uzonitsha, despite always trying their best to make people happy, the majority of comedians perish from depression.

She wrote: “About Adah Ameh’s death. I just want to say that most comedian know how to mask sadness. That some people are always happy does not mean they are not sad.  People take us for granted. They don’t check on us, someone once told me I don’t think you have feelings you are always making us laugh.  Most times all I hear is make us laugh, yes  make us laugh and off we go cos it’s now second nature.

Pray for a comedian today. Most of us die from depression. Call a comedian/comedienne today just to check on them. Rest on sister.”

Following the death of Ada Ameh, some sources claim she died from depression and grief due to the pain of the loss of her only daughter, Aladi Gift, in 2020.
