Grammy winner, Burna Boy has been invited by the Nigerian police for interrogation over the shooting at a Lagos club.

TORI reported the Lagos State Police Commissioner’s Special Squad detained five policemen attached to Burna Boy for attempted murder after they shot two clubbers Lawrence Irebami and another identified simply as Tolu, at Club Cubana in Lagos on Wednesday.

In a tweet on Sunday, police spokesperson Olumuyiwa Adejobi, noted that to ensure a detailed investigation of the case, the singer would have to be interrogated.

According to Vanguard, it was gathered that the detectives on the case are working around the clock to trace the singer’s whereabouts just as news making rounds said he is not in the country.

Police sources said Burna Boy has allegedly fled the country immediately after the incident to avoid questioning, adding: “Already, five police escorts attached to the singer have since been arrested and are being detained at the Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja.”

A police source revealed that the escorts involved in the incident did not notify the police about the incident. According to the source, it was eyewitnesses that reported the shooting incident to the police.
