Yul Edochie, the favored Nigerian actor, has played down on the opinion that Nollywood films are the causes of incessant ritual killings within the nation.

The actor and son of a legend, Pete Edochie bare his thoughts through Instagram whereas reacting to a call by the Home of Rep to declare a state of Emergency over ritual killings within the nation.

Yul stated the rationale for the rise of ritual killings is because of the excessive stage of starvation and poverty confronted by Nigerians.

He urged the federal government to find a lasting resolution to the struggling of the folks.

Yul stated: “From when I was a child within the eighties, I began hearing about ritual killings in Nigeria. There was no Nollywood. Starvation and poverty make folks to do crime. No be Nollywood trigger am, Nollywood is just displaying what occurs within the society”.

Going additional, Yul said: “Nigerians are wallowing in excessive poverty. A hungry man is an offended man. Repair the nation and crime will go away, don’t blame Nollywood.
