Broadcast stations have been directed to deactivate their Twitter accounts.

The order was given by the National Broadcasting Commission, NBC.

This comes following the banning of the microblogging app by the Federal Government.

The NBC Assistant Director of Public Affairs, Ekanem Antia, made the disclosure in a statement on Monday in Abuja.
