A High Courtroom in Abuja has granted bail to aphrodisiac entrepreneur, Hauwa Saidu Jaruma aka Jaruma.

This comes after she was arrested for alleged defamation and remanded in custody for days.

Jaruma was arraigned before an Abuja high court docket on charges bordering on defamation of character, false information publication and intimidation of former lawmaker, Ned Nwoko on the web.

The billionaire businessman had accused Jaruma of publishing falsehoods on her Instagram web page towards him and his spouse, Regina Daniels.

Justice Ismaila Abdullahi in his ruling on Monday had ordered that Jaruma be remanded within the Suleja Correctional Centre pending the bail hearing on Friday.

The Judge whereas ruling on her bail application on Friday stated her remand shouldn’t be seen as a punishment to the defendant.

Abdullahi warned all parties involved within the matter to refrain from actions that might be thought of prejudicial to the case.

He stated, “The court docket didn’t remand her in custody as a punitive means to penalise the defendant however to make her present and answer to her case. By this, I shall be quick to point out that the cost against the defendant is bailable however not ordinary.

“I hereby grant her bail on the next conditions: That the surety have to be a stage 12 civil servant working inside the FCT. Additionally, all of the parties concerned within the case should keep from something that may be prejudicial to the case.”
