Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has confirmed that billionaire businessman, Obi Cubana is in its custody.
Nonetheless, the anti-graft company clarified that Obi Cubana, whose actual name is Obinna Iyiegbu was not arrested however was invited by the company.
Recall that the Punch had reported that the billionaire businessman, Obi Cubana was arrested for alleged cash laundering and tax fraud.
It was learnt that Obi Cubana arrived on the workplace of the fee in Abuja on Monday afternoon and was being questioned by operatives of the anti-graft company
Talking to BBC Pidgin, the anti-graft company revealed that the businessman was not arrested as broadly reported.
The EFCC said that the socialite was invited two weeks in the past however solely confirmed up yesterday, 1st November.
“We didn’t arrest Obi Cubana. We had invited him over to our workplace two weeks in the past, which he solely confirmed up yesterday round 11am in our workplace at Wuse Zone 6 Abuja”
In addition they famous that they had been investigating Obi Cubana for evasion of tax by the Cubana Group with cash laundering and abuse of the naira in public locations
