The big team news as far as Man City are concerned is that Aguero and Bernardo are both named on the bench, with Jesus and Mahrez being preferred. Mahrez missed last weekend’s Community Shield clash with Liverpool due to precautionary measures over fears he may fail a drugs test. That issue has been cleared up, though, and he starts today on the right of City’s front three. Ederson is involved from the off, too, despite a disrupted pre-season, and Laporte has recovered from injury to partner Stones in the heart of defence.
