Mike Tyson has revealed he has fresh doubts about the pedigree of Anthony Joshua after the UK-based Nigerian defeated Joseph Parker on points in his first 12-round fight as a pro, but failed to spark against the New Zealander.

According to Metro UK, the 28-year-old won virtually every round against Parker, but his display was criticised by the likes of Tyson Fury, who claimed the unification fight was abysmal.

Tyson seems to think Joshua’s performance fell flat and admitted he was not so convinced by AJ’s credentials.

He said; ‘Joshua looked like he was the guy to [become undisputed champion] but in his last fight, he did not impress me,’ Tyson told Showtime.

He added; ‘[Deontay Wilder] is improving, he’s getting better.’

Joshua is now on the hunt to secure the final major world title, with WBC champion Deontay Wilder the only other remaining belt holder.

Wilder had released a statement to confirm his readiness to make the bout happen. ‘I want to congratulate Anthony Joshua on his win last Saturday. Anthony, I am so glad we finally heard from you on Saturday and that you want to fight me as your next opponent and you want the fight to happen in the UK.
‘I accept that challenge and I am ready to come to the UK for my next fight. There is nothing on Team Wilder’s side to prevent me from fighting you next.
‘You also said on Saturday that your team is ready to meet with Shelly Finkel and Al Haymon from my side to get this deal done. They are also ready to meet with your team immediately. Let us know when – the sooner the better.
‘Thanks Anthony, I can’t wait to meet you in the ring.’
